A 62-year-old man was arrested and forced to stay away from his 83-year-old mother because he was suspected of attacking his mother, the National Republican Guard (NRG) said this Thursday.
“After reporting a suspected domestic violence situation, NTC soldiers quickly moved to the location where the suspect was threatening the victim, his mother, an 83-year-old woman,” he said.
In a press release, GNR also said that following a police investigation, “the suspect was arrested and the air pistol used to intimidate and threaten the victim was also confiscated.”
According to the GNR, the 62-year-old man, arrested on Monday in the municipality of Viseu, was presented to the Viseu judicial court, which ordered his removal from the victim as a coercive measure.
