The PSD President justified this Monday the choice of the journalist Sebastian Bugalho to head the AD list for the Europeans by saying that he is a “talented” and disruptive young man and said that he wants to participate “actively and energetically” in the campaign.
“A talented young man, a young man whom the country knows, in some places even controversial, offensive, subversive, encouraging confrontation with democratic respect. He is an example of what we want: that it is worth being in Portugal, fighting for Portugal and going to Europe to defend the interests and colors of Portugal,” said Luis Montenegro in the opening speech of the National Council, open to journalists.
Montenegro, which did not mention the name of Rui Moreira, who was named by several media outlets and TV commentator and former PSD leader Markes Mendes as the head of the AD list, said it had proposed the name to the Standing Committee and the Policy Commission. Sebastian Bugalho.
“It is worth betting on the future, Sebastian Bugalho, with all honor and with great conviction, is the candidate I have to present to you and I am convinced that he will change the situation in the next European elections,” he said.
Montenegro promised that it would participate in the election campaign “actively and energetically”, “as far as his duties” as prime minister allow.
“I know that some people neglect this trait of mine. I like the campaign, I like the street, I’m here to go door to door and talk to the Portuguese,” he promised.
