Argentine Security Minister Patricia Bullrich said this Thursday in Chile that the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah operates on the tri-border of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, in territory where “it has established itself and launders money.”
“[Os membros do Hezbollah] they use the Brazilian PCC, Primeiro Comando Capital, they use Argentine and Paraguayan organizations that carry out kidnappings, robberies or drug trafficking. And they buy and launder money,” Bullrich said at the 2024 ENADE meeting in Santiago de Chile.
Bullrich argued that “they use these organizations as front organizations and present themselves as traders or businessmen from the region,” although he did not insist on Hezbollah’s presence in Chile, as he said last week.
