200 pro-Palestinian protesters detained at US universities

About 200 pro-Palestinian protesters were detained at three US university campuses on Saturday and police were called in to forcefully dismantle camps set up against the war in the Gaza Strip.

More than a hundred people were detained on the campus of Northeastern University, Boston University said, in the northeastern United States, where police forced protesters to leave an encampment.

“As part of the evacuation, the police detained about 100 people. Students presenting Northeastern ID cards [University] were released (…). Those who refused to prove their affiliation were detained,” the university said on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
