The Judicial Police (PJ) announced this Monday the arrest of a man and a woman in Viseu and Coimbra, suspected of crimes such as kidnapping, robbery, causing grievous bodily harm and possession of prohibited weapons.
The SP said in a statement that the crimes committed on February 2 in Viseu were motivated by passion.
According to the joint venture, the suspects “in the company of another man, who at that time was hiding under the pretext of using drugs,” took the 24-year-old man “to a forest on the outskirts of the village of Viseu.”
“On the spot, far from his houses, he was threatened with a firearm, brutally attacked, tied up and doused with fuel. However, when he managed to free himself and escape, he was not set on fire,” he added.
The man and woman were detained in Viseu and Coimbra on arrest warrants.
After the first interrogation by the judicial authorities, a coercive measure of restraint was applied to the man, and the woman was forced to appear weekly and was prohibited from contacting other participants.
