Independent candidate Robert Kennedy Jr., who sees himself as an alternative to Joe Biden and Donald Trump in the presidential election, has gained access to the ballot in California, the state where the largest number of Electoral College votes are distributed.
The nephew of former President John F. Kennedy and son of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy will be on the ballot at the request of the American Independent Party of California, which provided the necessary signatures and documentation to the California Secretary of State, who nominated Kennedy Jr. for President and Nicole Shanahan for Vice President.
“We are officially on the ballot in California, the largest state in terms of the Electoral College,” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in a video announcing the progress. California has 54 electoral votes, well above the 40 in Texas and the 30 in Florida, the other states with the most votes.
