The trial of the international drug trafficking network led by Ruben Oliveira, known as Xuxa, this Thursday was marked by the testimony of four witnesses.
Ana Maria Candeias, the company’s manager, was called upon to recall two real estate transactions in which Ruben Oliveira was involved. In one of them, he admitted, José Cabral, accused in the same case, represented the interests of Xux with an offer of 70 thousand euros for a plot of land. The prosecutor’s office claims that this was an attempt to launder drug trafficking.
Thiago Miguel, a former employee of Eurofrutas, recalled in court the lure he said he was subjected to by a man he could not identify who promised him a reward for redirecting certain pallets of bananas.
Finally, Paula Cruz, the former tenant of Ruben and his wife Carla Paradela, told the court that she continues to live in the same house, which now belongs to Susha’s brother, Dercio Oliveira. The paramedic said she spent about five years living in the house “without a signed lease and handing over rent of €650 a month to Carla Paradelle,” Syux’s wife. Only at the beginning of 2023, after the arrest of Susha and his accomplices, did he sign a lease agreement. However, he concluded, he guarantees that he never met the landlord Dercio Oliveira in person.
