Operation Portugal + Seguro also included inspection activities in the areas of road safety, weapons and explosives, consumption and trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances, and private security in the areas of Lisbon, Setúbal and Porto.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 607 doses of drugs, including 600 doses of hashish, two doses of cannabis, two doses of cocaine and three doses of heroin.
Five weapons were also seized, including a firearm and four bladed weapons, according to the statement.
As part of the road check, 83 people were arrested, including 20 for drunk driving and 16 for not having a driver’s license, eight for drug trafficking and two for possession of a prohibited weapon.
Also, 171 administrative offenses were recorded, of which 11 were for speeding, 23 for the lack of mandatory periodic technical inspection, 28 for the lack of compulsory civil liability insurance and 22 for failure to use child restraint systems.
Both officers filed two administrative violations for failure to wear a seat belt, nine for improper use of a cell phone while driving, and 72 for other laws other than traffic rules.
The operation, which involved 651 military personnel of the State People’s Republic and the police of the PSP, was aimed at checking nightlife establishments and establishments, as well as conducting verification activities for road safety, weapons and explosives, consumption and sale of drugs and psychotropic substances. and private security in the Lisbon, Setubal and Porto areas.
