Jose Castelo Branco was arrested Tuesday morning by PNP forces on suspicion of domestic violence against Betty Grafstein. The socialite was arrested in Estoril, in the house where he lives.
The arrest was made by soldiers from the GNR Investigative and Victim Support Center in Lisbon, which took over the investigation. José Castelo Branco will appear before a judge for enforcement action.
The socialite will appear before the same criminal judge in the Sintra court who issued the arrest warrant. The CM has determined that this will be criminal judge Pedro Brito.
He found the evidence collected by the NIAVE Lisbon PNP convincing and issued an arrest warrant.
There are several possible enforcement measures, ranging from a simple agreement on identification and residence to preventive detention. The judge will ensure, as the CM knows, that the divorce of Jose Castelo Branco and Betty Grafstein is effective.
Remember that the knee brace Betty Grafstein reported her husband to authorities and reported attacks on a cleaner at the hospital where she had been admitted since April 20. Five medical workers confirmed the veracity of the accusations and sent a complaint to the prosecutor’s office.
