Hasan Salihamidzic, sporting director of Bayern Munich, explained in an interview with the German newspaper Bild this Sunday that Jorge Mendes spoke with the German club to place Cristiano Ronaldo in the Bundesliga, but the Bavarian formation did not want it.
“Ronaldo doesn’t fit into Bayern either financially or sportingly. It does not fit into our philosophy or the tactical plan of the team,” explained the sports director of the German champions.
“We talked about the possibility of counting on Ronaldo. But I clearly told Jorge Mendes: this is not profitable for us, ”added Salihamidzic, without specifying whether these conversations with the businessman were in the summer or before the World Cup.
Ronaldo ended up heading to Al Nasr, where he signed the biggest contract in the history of the sport at the hands of Ricardo Regufe after severing a long association with Jorge Mendez.
