The workers of the companies of the TRANSDEV group are working out this Monday as the day of the strike. The initiative was signed by the Northern City Trade Union of Transport Workers. The city of Guimarães, where the company is headquartered, was one of the locations chosen for the meetings. About 70 of the approximately 1,600 workers were located in the Guimarães city council headquarters building. Specialists sent an open letter to the leadership of the municipality outlining the claims.
Workers are demanding wage increases for all workers in all categories by the same percentage as 2022 inflation; Lunch and dinner time is at least 1 hour from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 19:30 to 22:00, and not between the third and 42nd hours of work; Meals on the way, provided that the workers are not at the workplace during the meal and are not more than 75 kilometers away from it; Reimbursement for breakfast for employees who go to work before 6:00 am, as they have always been paid; Observe working hours and do not schedule work longer than permitted by law.
According to the Union, about 85% of the workers registered for the strike.
