This Friday, UEFA, through the Financial Control Committee, imposed a fine of 1.5 million euros on Porto. According to the organization, this concerns “overdue debts to other football clubs, employees and/or social/tax authorities.”
FC Porto was notified of this sanction on April 19, about a week before the Blue-White elections.
The Porto football club is facing exclusion from European competition. The ban from the next UEFA club competition in which Porto qualifies for the next three seasons is suspended “for a period of two seasons and will only apply if the club fails to meet solvency requirements for the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons “
“Sp. Braga” and “V. Guimaraes are also included in the list of clubs subject to UEFA sanctions: Warriors with 40 thousand euros and Guimaraes with 200 thousand euros. Vitoria, in fact, also faces the threat of a ban from European competition, which will be suspended for one season and “will only apply if the club does not meet solvency requirements for the 2024/25 season.”
