On Tuesday, the kings of Spain mark the first day of their official visit to Angola, culminating in a meeting with Angolan President João Lourenço.
Felipe VI and Letizia arrived in Luanda on Monday. Angola was chosen by two monarchs for their first visit to sub-Saharan Africa.
Before meeting with the chief executive of Angola, the Spanish kings will pass through the Republic Square, where they will lay a wreath at the sarcophagus of President António Agostinho Neto, and in the middle of the morning they should meet with Joao Lourenço.
In an interview with the Spanish newspaper ABC, João Lourenço showed interest in increasing Spanish investment and closer cultural and educational ties within “Paniberism”.
An awards ceremony and the signing of agreements are also planned at the Presidential Palace, followed by the opening of an exhibition by Catalan artist Joan Miró and a meeting with the Spanish community in the afternoon.
The next day, the King of Spain and the President of Angola will speak at the Business Forum and talk to businessmen from both countries.
On Wednesday, the kings of Spain will also visit the National Assembly and the Military History Museum, and in the afternoon they will return to their country.
