A fire this Thursday completely destroyed a car workshop in Tortosendo, municipality of Covilhã, Castelo Branco district, Civil Protection sources told Lusa, adding that the fire has already been contained.
The workshop was “completely destroyed” by the fire, which did not affect the neighboring house, a source at the Covilhã fire department explained.
He said the incident, which was reported at 7:57 p.m., did not leave anyone homeless or cause any injuries.
A source from the subregional command of Beiras and Serra da Estrela said the fire was considered under control at 21:00, confirming that the area was completely engulfed in flames.
According to Civil Defense, 36 militants were at the scene at 9:30 p.m., supported by 14 vehicles.
