PS will request documents from the DP and AMT regarding compensation to the current Secretary of State

The PS will ask the CP – Comboios de Portugal and the Office of Mobility and Transport (AMT) to send to Parliament the departure documents with compensation of 80,000 euros of the Secretary of State Cristina Dias.

In a document sent to Luza and which will be submitted to Parliament today, the Socialist Parliamentary Group asks that MPs be provided with a copy of the agreement on the termination of the employment contract by mutual consent signed between Cristina Díaz and the PC in July 2015, as well as “a copy of an excerpt from the minutes of the Board of Directors CP, which contains a discussion of the above-mentioned termination of contract” and which “contains a discussion of the criteria for termination of duties with entitlement to compensation.”

We are talking about the resignation from the CP of the then administrator and current State Secretary for Mobility, Cristina Diaz, with a compensation of about 80,000 euros, in order for her to take over the responsibilities of the AMT administrator at the invitation of the PSD/CDS-PP government. under the leadership of Pedro Passos Coelho.

On Wednesday, former Railway Equipment Maintenance Company (EMEF) director Francisco Fortunato, who denounced the case in 2015, told parliament that “no standards were met” in the process and that the compensation paid to CP was an “act.” mismanagement detrimental to the public interest and carried out in complete disregard of existing regulations and the austerity policies then applied by the government to the majority of workers.”

Francisco Fortunato also assured the deputies that the issue will become clearer when they receive the minutes of the meeting at which the decision to pay compensation was made. “You will be surprised,” he assured.

In the request for documentation, which will be presented to Parliament today, the PS also seeks the opinion of the internal bodies of CP, which were responsible for presenting the proposal addressed to the Board of Directors regarding Cristina Diaz’s request for termination. contract by mutual consent, a list of the number of employees dismissed by mutual consent with the right to compensation in the period from 2013 to 2015, as well as the reason for dismissal and an indication of the number of applications received that were not accepted by the company based on professional category and reason for refusal.

The Socialist Parliamentary Group also wants to know the internal rules for dismissal by mutual consent in force this year, documentation containing the entire process of requesting dismissal by mutual consent from the Secretary of State for Mobility, a list of workers who left CP without compensation between 2010 and 2015, a list of redundant employees in the structure and a list of reasons for dismissal of all employees who left under the age of 55 in the period from 2010 to 2015.

At Wednesday’s hearing, Francisco Fortunato recalled that at the time of Cristina Diaz’s departure from CP, as part of austerity policies, dismissal by mutual consent in public companies was only possible in very special cases, for people with a minimum age of 55 years. elderly, or having a permanent physical inability to carry out professional activities, or in cases of termination of work without the possibility of restoration to other functions.

PS also requests that detailed information be sent regarding the process for appointing Cristina Diaz to the AMT board of directors, “including any relevant documentation that justifies this selection in light of the current incompatibility rules.”

“It is necessary to clarify whether Ms. Cristina Diaz received a benefit in relation to other employees in similar situations, both in terms of the speed of the process and the amount of compensation,” the PS explains in the document, emphasizing that “this clarification is vital to guarantee absence of preferential treatment, guarantee equality and administrative justice.”

On April 19, the Correio da Manhã newspaper reported the case after Cristina Díaz was announced as Secretary of State for Mobility, and on the same day, Presidential Minister António Leitan Amaro said that a government official had compensated her based on 18 years of work in CP and that she was even treated as the “lower of the two salaries that could have been considered” as a senior technician rather than as an administrator, the position she held when she left the company.

Leitan Amaro also said that this is compensation “equal to almost 400 workers and in a program open for four years, with rules applicable to everyone.”
