This Saturday, the Portuguese government expressed “deep regret” over the death on Friday of the Portuguese Ambassador to Cape Verde, Paulo Lourenço, stressing that he was an “exemplary diplomat”.
In a post on the social network Instagram, Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel highlighted Paulo Lourenço, who has held his post since December 2022 in Cape Verde, where he has “received enormous recognition, prestige and sympathy.”
“It is with deep regret that I express, on behalf of the Government of Portugal and myself, my sincere condolences to the family of Ambassador Paulo Lourenço. Exemplary diplomat, yesterday [sexta-feira] died in Cape Verde, he gained enormous recognition, prestige and sympathy there, which I was personally able to witness,” the condolence says.
