Catastrophic crash on first lap of Monaco Grand Prix interrupts race

Accident that damaged a Red Bull car driven by a Mexican Sergio Perez This Sunday the mythical Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix was abandoned on the first lap.

The red flag was raised shortly after the start when Perez’s car collided with Nico’s cars. Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, both from Haas.

Race officials interrupted the race to remove cars from the track and repair the safety barriers, with the race resuming approximately 40 minutes after the work was completed.

The drivers emerged unscathed from the spectacular crash caused by the collision between Magnussen’s Haas and Sergio Perez’s Red Bull, who was left without three of his four wheels. Both cars had to be removed by crane.
