The Judicial Police are investigating a complaint of attempted sports corruption in a game between UD Mansores and ADC Lobão last Sunday, counting Aveiro as the main regional division.
A 2-0 win in the last round of the first stage by ADC Lobão ensured a final fourth and last place, guaranteeing access to the Campeonato de Portugal qualifying stage.
According to a complaint filed by a person outside the club, the messages were sent to the athletes from UD Mansores. “The board is collaborating on everything to help get the truth out,” a source close to the club said.
“I am completely calm. I am sure that no one in my leadership was involved in this scheme,” said ADC Lobão President José Silva Rocha to Correio da Manhã.
“The judicial police did not contact me. When I am, I will be happy to answer everything they ask me about, ”the leader assured. The Aveiro Football Association, which was questioned by Correio da Mañan, said it had no knowledge of the UD Mansores’ complaint.
