Over the course of two years, from 2016 to 2017, Benfica SAD entered into a series of contracts with Vitoria Football Club (VFC) SAD, related to the loan of players and the acquisition of preferential rights to athletes from Setúbal, which brought Sadino about 1 million and half Euro. However, according to the investigation of the Judicial Police (PJ) and the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PP) in the so-called email case, all these contracts had no economic justification for Benfica and were nothing more than a way for SAD to then transfer funds to Luis Filipe Vieira in FC Vitoria, whose financial difficulties were already known – in 2020 the club was suspended from professional competitions for non-compliance with the licensing conditions of the professional league.
