The Court of Auditors (TdC) has ordered public managers to pay €140,000, including fines and restitution, as part of enforcement processes. In 2023, the TdC issued more than two dozen convictions and identified cases of non-collection or delivery of amounts to the public treasury or improper payments, as well as other illegal situations. The court refused to issue visas to 27 cases.
The report does not disclose specific cases, but indicates situations of violation of legal norms under a government order or permission of a person, as well as improper payments or the commission of actions that were not subject to prior judicial review.
Last year Tdc controlled 929 businesses, accounting for more than €261 billion in government spending. According to an activity report published yesterday, TdC previously reviewed 2,031 acts and contracts totaling €6,813 million. The court denied visas to 27 contracts.
