This Saturday, a man threatened the manager of a restaurant in the Forum Coimbra shopping center with a firearm, allegedly to collect a debt to which his girlfriend was the creditor. The suspect allegedly pointed a gun at him and set a deadline for repaying the alleged debt before fleeing.
In response to CMThe management of the commercial space expressed regret over the current situation and “strongly condemned any threats or violence.” The statement added that as soon as the case was discovered, the Coimbra Forum “immediately activated the planned internal security mechanisms and requested the intervention of the police authorities.” He also states that this was a one-off act to ensure that the safety of visitors and tenants “is a priority.”
