Hiring Jose Mourinho doesn’t come cheap, and this Sunday the Turkish press reports how much Fenerbahce will spend to secure one of the best coaches in the world for the next three seasons, the last of which is optional. According to Fanatic, the Special One will earn 10 million euros a year, not including prizes. His assistants will receive about two million euros per season.
Mourinho’s signing has inspired Fenerbahce fans, who are vowing to bring the city to a standstill this Sunday, the day the Portuguese coach arrives in Istanbul. The coach will be met at the stadium, and the club is already preparing a party.
The coach is well documented and knows what awaits him in Turkey, as Mario Branco, Portugal’s sporting director, sent Mourinho a 120-page report with all the information, from the team to the sports facilities, during contract negotiations.
The idea is to take Fenerbahce into the Champions League and win the championship that has eluded the Istanbul club for 10 years.
