Siemens Gamesa and the unions address the planned adjustment in the Spanish State on Thursday at the employment table

The meeting will take place in Zamudio. The adjustment will affect 475 jobs in the Spanish State. The unions link a possible agreement to “no traumatic dismissal”, and the company aims to “minimize unwanted exits”.

Siemens Gamesa Y unions will address this Thursday, October 13, in Zamudiowithin the framework of employment tablethe negotiation of the adjustment planned in the Spanish State, according to union sources.

On October 4, there was a telematic meeting of the company with the union sections of CC. OO., UGT and ELA throughout the Spanish State, where the company offered some details of this adjustment, which will affect 475 jobs, within a broader plan. In total, it plans to cut 2,900 jobs worldwide, within the framework of its strategic program ‘Mistral’.

At that meeting, Siemens Gamesa informed the unions that, of this adjustment of 475 jobs, 80 correspond to temporary jobs that will not be renewed, 43 are natural rotation positions that “disappear over time” and 352 are dismissals in offices . In the case of the 80 temporary and the other 43 positions, it is unknown, for now, if they will also be in offices, or not.

It was also confirmed that the Gamesa Electric and Gamesa Energy Transmission business units will not be affected, neither in offices nor in plants. Gamesa Energy Transmission, which is the gearbox unit, is in Mungia and Asteasu.

“No traumatic dismissal”

The adjustment plan will be developed, as had already been announced, in two years, and the company has called the employment table for Thursday in order to reach an agreement, which for the unions has to happen “because there is no traumatic dismissal “. At that table, again, CC are summoned. OO., ELA and UGT, on the trade union side.

The company, for its part, has transferred that it will try to find non-traumatic exits through relocations, incentivized dismissals and early retirement, with the aim of “minimizing unwanted exits”.

In this line, the President of the Government of Navarra, María Chiviteand the Director of Business Development, Mikel Irujo, have requested a meeting with Siemens Gamesa, to maintain employment in the company, which operates in Navarra. Sarriguren’s corporate offices are among those expected to be affected by the adjustment plan.
