The fire at the upcoming luxury hotel on Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon is under control

The fire that broke out this Friday morning in a hotel under construction on Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon spread to the entire structure of the building, causing noise in part of the interior. The building belongs to the group JNcQUOI House.

“There was a complete loss of elements on the second, third floors and the roof,” said Sapadores de Lisboa commander Alexandre Rodrigues. Due to the voltage drop, the fireman had to be assisted by INEM staff.

The fire has been declared extinguished and is in the liquidation stage, a civil defense source told Lusa at 10:40 p.m. The same source said there were no signs of any injuries.

According to a source in the Public Security Police (PSP), the fire broke out on the third floor of the building being reconstructed and spread to the remaining floors.

At 10:40 a.m., the Lisbon Fire Regiment declared that the fire was contained, but in the meantime “it got worse and the fire spread to the roof,” the regiment’s first commander explained late that evening. . firefighters of Sapadores Lisbon Alexander Rodrigues.

A note sent to Lusa, the source of information about the hotel being built in the building and set to open its doors this summer, said there were no casualties or injuries of any kind.

The same source said it had asked the construction company for “full and detailed information about the reasons that led to this fire.”

According to the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), 78 operatives supported by 23 vehicles were on the scene at 10:45 p.m.
