Gasoline and diesel fuel are 3 cents cheaper per liter.

Fuel prices will fall early next week. Petrol and diesel prices are expected to fall by three cents per liter, according to estimates provided this Friday by sector sources.

For those who drive diesel cars, there is good news: they can count on the lowest price for this fuel since the beginning of the year. According to the Directorate General of Energy and Geology (DGEG), the national average price per liter of plain diesel reached 1,549 euros at the end of this week. With a planned decrease of three cents, it will amount to 1,519 euros from Monday against the previous low of 1,546 euros recorded in the first half of January.

As for regular 95-octane gasoline, taking into account the information from the DGEG, the average price at the national level should decrease from 1,729 euros to 1,699 euros.

It is important to note that the values published by this government body, overseen by the Ministry of the Environment, already take into account regular card discounts and promotions run by gas stations. Prices are also softened by tax cuts introduced by the previous government in response to rising fuel prices.

The fall in prices since next Monday largely reflects the cost of a barrel of oil, which in the case of Brent, the Portuguese benchmark, traded below $80 this week for the first time since February. .
