The Minister of Health was discharged from the hospital this Saturday after being monitored and undergoing some tests following a traffic accident in which she was involved on Friday, the local health authority of Western Lisbon said.
Following this accident, Minister Ana Paula Martins and two other members were hospitalized at the San Francisco Xavier Hospital in Lisbon, who have since been discharged from the hospital.
The health minister “presented a picture of injuries to the upper and lower extremities, which resulted in a longer period of observation in a hospital setting,” the same note sent to Lusa said.
The accident occurred on the A10 motorway near Sobral de Monte Agraço in the Lisbon district, without the involvement of any other vehicle.
Minister Ana Paula Martins was eventually taken to the hospital in a car behind, followed by Secretary of State for Health Administration Cristina Vas Tome.
According to a source in the Office of the Minister of Health, the Minister was returning from the signing ceremony of a contract within the framework of the Plan of Recovery and Resilience (PRR), concerning the construction and retraining of health centers in Coimbra, when the accident occurred around 19:00.
