Authorities say they found a body believed to be that of British TV presenter Michael Mosley on a Greek island on Sunday morning, The Times reported. Associated Press (AP).
A police official, who requested anonymity given the ongoing investigation, said the body was found on a rocky shore near a private boat. Official confirmation of the victim’s identity is awaited.
Mosley went missing after going camping on the Greek island of Symi.
Local mayor Lefteris Papakalodoukas said he was on a boat with other members of various media when they saw the body about 20 meters away. “We zoomed in and realized it was him,” he said. AP.
Papakalodoukas added that it appeared the body rolled down the slope and came to rest face up against a fence surrounded by rocks.
The victim had a leather suitcase in his hand.
Mosley is well known in the UK for his regular appearances on television and radio, as well as his column in the Daily Mail. International fame came with the publication of the book “The Fast Diet” (“The Two-Day Diet” in Portuguese translation), written together with journalist Mimi Spencer. He has four children with his wife Claire Bailey Mosley, who is also a doctor.
