The management and the unions have set a schedule of meetings to discuss personnel adjustments, about which there have been no developments in the first meeting held this Thursday. ELa has criticized that the lack of information “adds more tension” on a template.

The ELA union has denounced that Siemens-Gamesa continues without clarifying the scope in the centers of Euskadi and Navarra of the adjustment process proposed by the multinational to destroy 475 posts of work in the Spanish State. For this reason, it has submitted a formal request to collect more data, since the condition by center is not yet known.

Siemens Gamesa management and the unions have set a schedule of meetings to discuss the staff settings of the company, about which there have been no news in the first meeting held this Thursday, union sources have reported.
The management and representatives of CCOO, UGT and ELA held this afternoon at the headquarters of Zamudio (Bizkaia) the first meeting of an Employment Roundtable to deal with the adjustment, which the company announced a week ago will focus on the corporate offices of Zamudio, Madrid and Sarriguren (Pamplona), with 352 dismissals in a process that will last for two years.
The rest of the layoffs in Spain, up to the 475 planned in total, will be 80 temporary workers whose contract is not renewed and 43 natural rotation positions.
Union sources have indicated that today there has been no further specification of what will be the affectation by centers and positions, and a schedule of meetings has been set, usual in any negotiating process of a workforce adjustment.
The intention of the company is that the “tools” to undertake the adjustment plan will be relocations, early retirements and incentivized dismissals, while the unions consider unjustified dismissals.
The Zamudio-based wind turbine manufacturer will undertake an adjustment that foresees some 2,900 layoffs worldwide to adapt to market demands.
As reported by ELA in a statement, the company still does not clarify the scope of the layoffs in the centers of Euskadi and Navarra, nor what will be the effect by work centers. Nor has he provided specific data that “support his intentions.”
In order to collect more data, ELA has submitted a formal request to the company to obtain information that was addressed in the European Committee, where this issue was previously discussed. It has also criticized that the lack of information “add more tension” about a squad that faces the third adjustment process in the last four years.
ELA has reproached on numerous occasions the continuous destruction of employment since the “misnamed fusion” between Siemens and Gamesa, a situation that has “worsened since the takeover bid announced in June by Siemens Energy”.
In this sense, the union has rejected this new adjustment process proposed by the multinational to destroy 475 jobs in the State and has demanded a “solid” industrial plan to guarantee future employment.
