The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) this Monday raised the yellow warning level in the counties from three to six due to the forecast of persistent and sometimes heavy rainfall.
In addition to Porto, Viana do Castelo and Braga, which were already painted yellow, the IPMA has issued a new rainfall warning statement for the areas of Viseu, Vila Real and Aveiro from 15:00 to 21:00 this Monday.
A yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued by the IPMA whenever a risk situation arises for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.
IPMA forecasts generally very cloudy skies for the continent today, periods of rain in the north and center that could be heavy at times, especially in Minho and Douro Litoral, with light to moderate winds in the afternoon, strong in the highlands. and a slight increase in minimum temperature.
The minimum temperature will range from 11 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) to 17 (in Faro), and the maximum temperature will range from 19 degrees (in Viana do Castelo) to 29 (in Beja).
