For the second consecutive year the program arrives Young Summer 2024, aid for young people between 18 and 30 years old that will allow them to travel with great discounts of up to 90% on trains and buses this summer. Starting this Monday, June 17interested people can now register on the website of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to obtain the code that they must use to buy the discounted tickets.
The discounts will be applied to the price of tickets that have a travel date between July 1, 2024 and September 30, 2024 and ticket sales will begin no later than July 1, although operators could start selling later if they have technical problems. In any case, the discount will not be allowed retroactively.
The code, valid for the entire period and all means of transport included in the program, will be composed of the DNI or NIE number and a set of characters, while it will be sent to the mobile phone or email provided by the users. .
Types of discounts
The discounts will be applied to the train and bus tickets, and will depend on the type of service, the route and the associated companies. The discounts will range from 90% for conventional medium-distance services and for regular state bus trips, 50% for Avant single tickets and for high speed with a maximum of 30 euros per ticket, as well as a 50% discount on the Global Flexible Interrail of 10 days in 2 months, when marketed through Renfe.
It is important to note that these discounts They do not cover charges for cancellation, change, issuance, taxes, luggage or other additional services. In case of cancellation, users must assume the corresponding charges.
What do I have to do to benefit?
The beneficiaries must register starting today on the website of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility with their DNI, NIE or passport. If the program requirements are met, the beneficiaries you will receive a personal code and non-transferable that they must use to purchase the Interrail pass and the discounted train and bus tickets on the websites of the respective operators.
Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
Sanctions
Improper use of bonus tickets may lead to sanctions and suspension of the registration number and, therefore, the ability to continue benefiting from the measure. Fines of up to 750 euros in the case of rail transport and up to 200 euros in bus transport may be imposed if the beneficiary of the code does not correspond to the traveler, while the ministry may withdraw the code from those users who accumulate more than six improper uses.
