The US Federal Trade Commission (CFC) has filed a complaint against TikTok and ByteDance, a Chinese technology company that partners with the social network. The complaint was reviewed by the Ministry of Justice and concerns a violation of the privacy of children under 13 years of age.
US regulators and a Chinese video app are clashing again. The CFC said the commission’s own investigation “found reason to believe” that both companies were “in violation or near violation of North American law.”
