This Tuesday, Transportes Sul do Tejo (TST) workers are on strike again, demanding a wage increase of at least 80 euros and an increase in the food allowance to 9.60 euros.
Transportes Sul do Tejo, with approximately 900 employees, operates in Zone 3 of the Carris Metropolitana de Lisboa, which covers the municipalities of Almada, Seixal and Sesimbra in the district of Setúbal.
The company has made no attempt to meet workers’ demands since the last strike on May 28, Lusa Sara Gligó of the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (Fectrans) told Lusa today.
“The company believes that the values it presented to us in its latest proposal are values it is capable of living up to,” Sarah Gligo said, adding that if there is no progress from the TST administration in the meantime, there will be two more days of the strike, July 5 and 25.
According to the union leader, the company has expressed its willingness to apply a 5.89% increase in 2024, with a minimum increase of 60 euros and an increase in the food allowance to 7.30 euros, values that are still not compliant. workers.
The company has also expressed its willingness to bring the wages of TST workers as of December 31 into line with the wages paid by the company Alsa Todi (which operates in the municipalities of Alcochete, Barreiro, Moita, Montijo, Palmela and Setúbal) so that workers in the Setúbal peninsula remain at the same level.
