The lead singer of Crazy Town and the singer of the hit “Butterfly” was found dead at home

Shifty Shellshock, the lead singer of Crazy Town who achieved success in the early 2000s with the song “Butterfly”, died this Monday at the age of 49.

According to the magazine Newsweek, citing the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, the singer, whose name was Seth Binzer, was found dead at home. The causes of death have not yet been established.

Shifty Shellshock co-founded Crazy Town with Bret Mazur in 1992, and the band rose to fame in the early ’20s with “Butterfly”, the third single from their 1999 debut album The Gift of Games.

The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the group’s most successful song.

The singer struggled with drug addiction for several years and even participated in a reality show. “Celebrity Rehab” and “Sober House” to fight addiction.
