‘I heard there was another man and I was beside myself’: A man confesses that he killed his wife in Felgueiras.

Sergio Cunha, 46, admitted this Friday in a Penafiel court that he was behind the two shotgun blasts that killed his wife, Silvia Mendez, 45, in Felgueiras last June. The defendant also stated that the murder weapon was illegal.

“I heard that she was dating another man and I was beside myself. I beg your pardon,” said the defendant, sobbing in front of the panel of judges. The sister of the deceased, who witnessed the crime, was also heard. “I saw his car in front of me. My sister told me to run, and then she got hurt and fell. I started to run away and heard another shot,” said Marlene, who asked the defendant not to be in the courtroom during the testimony.

The couple’s daughter was also listened to and presented a different version than the one she presented to PJ. The defendant is arrested.
