The PSP of Setubal arrested a 39-year-old man who tried to kill his 32-year-old wife by strangling her. He remains in prison until he has a place to live under house arrest with electronic monitoring. He is also prohibited from contacting the victim.
Patrols were called to the Bairro da Bela Vista area at 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Witnesses reported a case of domestic violence on public roads. Officers saw the victim lying on the ground with neck injuries and bleeding from one ear. People accused the suspect of assault, and the man confirmed that he had squeezed his partner’s neck.
While the 32-year-old woman was taken to San Bernardo Hospital, the suspect was immediately detained. Prosecutors charged him with the crime of domestic violence.
