A 45-year-old man suspected of raping his 16-year-old cousin near the Bom Jesus sanctuary in Braga, early in the morning of June 29, will await trial in pre-trial detention. The decision was communicated to the accused this Thursday morning by the judge of the criminal investigation court of Braga.
The rape took place early on Saturday morning after the young woman went with her cousin to the San Pedro party in Vila Verde.
On the way home, instead of going to Marco de Canaveses, where the minor lives, he took him to a deserted place near Santuarios do Bom Jesus in Braga, where, using physical force and verbal abuse, he raped the minor. According to the judicial police who arrested him, the sexual assault was photographed by the attacker.
After that, he threatened the victim not to tell his family anything. But the minor, in a panic, told her mother about what had happened, and the mother filed a complaint with the authorities.
