The Government and the PS have the same number of proposals or bills approved in the final global vote in the first hundred days of the legislature, while the PSD, Chega, IL, PCP, Livre and PAN have not approved a single one. Of the diplomas issued by Parliament, three are already decrees promulgated by the President of the Republic.
The President of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, author of the largest number of approved resolutions (five out of 20), praised this Thursday the progress of parliamentary work in the first hundred days of the legislative body: distributed between 113 hours of plenary sessions and 481 hours of committee sessions. “Contrary to what many have said, parliament is not paralyzed. On the contrary, despite the heated debates, despite the differences, despite the diversity, we are working,” the social democrat emphasized.
In addition to the ongoing investigation into the twins’ case, which Chega has potentially requested, parliament has already unanimously approved an investigation into the management of Santa Casa de Lisboa, which will begin in September.
