The English press reports that the club are trying to decide the fate of some players who are not included in new manager Arne Slot’s plans before formalising a decisive bid for the 19-year-old Portugal international. Argentine Mac Allister will be a reliable player in Liverpool’s midfield next season, as will England’s Elliott. Gravenberch and Szoboszlai will be assessed in pre-season, but the new manager favours a player with the characteristics of Joao Neves. Liverpool also have star player Salah on the market, and his departure could increase transfer value.
However, the deal is not an easy one, as Benfica are not giving up the €120 million release clause in the agreement. In addition, the competition for João Neves is very high. Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG are all keen on the player.
Benfica, and how CM progress, have already rejected two offers worth 60 million euros. João Neves, who played for the national team at the European Championships, will be included in the work under Schmidt next week, as will António Silva. The defender also has a market in England, although the recent European Championships have made him a priority target for some European sharks this close season.
