“Traitors”, “Judas”, “disgraceful”, “pulled their pants on the Government”, “traitors”, “sycophants”, “our risk lies between the cleaners and the guards of the PZ”. These were only the mildest epithets publicly addressed by the police and the military to the trade union leaders who signed the agreement with the government and thereby agreed to an increase in the risk bonus by 300 euros. But the agreement has not pleased many, who are now threatening to leave the union structures to which they belonged. The revolt is forcing hundreds of members to sever their ties with the main unions, the PSP and the GNR, as the structures themselves denounce. This division among the police has already led to the “death” of the union platform, which is also divided over the value attributed to it. However, the Independent Union of PSP Agents (SIAP/PSP) and the National Association of GNR NCOs (ANSG) have decided to file separate cases in the Constitutional Court against the agreement signed by the five trade unions and associations of the two PSP security forces. They consider that the agreement is an attack on the constitutional principle of equality. On 6 January 2025, the Ministry of the Interior will hold a meeting to discuss the new remuneration status for the PSP and GNR, which will also index the increases for the remaining civil service employees.
In practice, GNR and PSP members will receive this supplement of €400 (in 2027) plus 20% of their basic salary.
