Twelve Guinea-Bissau U17 footballers disappeared in Cascais and appeared in Sintra a day later

Twelve players from the Guinea-Bissau Under-17 Football Team disappeared on Saturday afternoon from the Secundária de São João do Estoril school in the municipality of Cascais, where they were participating in a tournament. They are all between 14 and 16 years old and the complaint to the PSP was filed by representatives of the Guinea-Bissau Football Federation. At least eleven people voluntarily went to the PSP in Mem Martins, Sintra, on Sunday evening. They said they had gone to visit family.

The young men had been in Portugal since the 10th. On Saturday they had their third game against Brazil in Tire, but they never showed up. They had disappeared in civilian clothes, left their equipment behind and were impossible to contact.

The complaint was filed on Saturday evening at the PSP in Estoril.

Only five players from the team did not survive, and of those who did, only one had a passport.
