The 68-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck by her husband and hit several times in the head with a hammer this Wednesday morning in her home on Rua Padre Joaquim Faria, in the Vila d’Este area, in Vilar of Andorinho, Gaia.
The attacker was detained by PSP officers and taken to the police station.
The alarm was received at 8:15 a.m. The Avintes fire department and the Gaia ambulance and resuscitation vehicle were called to the scene. The motives for the aggression are unknown.
After being stabilized, the woman was taken to Eduardo Santos Silva Hospital in what is considered a serious condition.
