Red Cross field hospital in Rafah ‘at capacity’

The Red Cross field hospital in Rafah in southern Gaza is operating at capacity following recent Israeli attacks on the Al-Mawasi camp for displaced persons, which have left more than 100 people dead.

The alert was issued by a Geneva-based humanitarian organisation. Many people were seriously injured and had to undergo emergency surgery.

“Another case of this kind [ataque de grande escala] “This could force our doctors and nurses to make very difficult decisions,” warned the organization’s local delegation leader, William Schomburg.

Meanwhile, the Israeli parliament voted on Thursday “against the principle” of creating a Palestinian state. According to the resolution adopted, “the establishment of a Palestinian state in the heart of the land of Israel” would pose an existential threat to the state of Israel and its citizens, perpetuate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and destabilize the region.

The only parties that advocated the creation of a Palestinian state were the Labor Party and the Arab parties Ra’am and Hadash Ta’al.
