A parliamentary commission investigating the Portuguese-Brazilian twins will not file a complaint against the girls’ mother’s lawyer after Wilson Bicalho failed to answer questions from MPs at a parliamentary hearing.
“I would very much like to answer, so I made a request to the Order, but the request was rejected,” the lawyer defended during the hearing.
The lawyer spoke only in an initial statement, classifying the accusations against his client, made at the previous hearing, as “calculated lies, told to the Portuguese’s face without compassion and simply to play behind-the-scenes games”. He guaranteed that there was no evidence of a crime on the part of the children’s mother, “despite the political and media reprisal” carried out by the media, and that Oeiras DIAP itself had stated that “there was not even any basis for the accusations”.
It is worth recalling that we are talking about the treatment of girls diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, at a cost of four million euros, using the drug Zolgensma.
