The SP announced on Tuesday the arrest at Lisbon airport of five foreigners suspected of drug trafficking who were transporting cocaine from the South American country in quantities equivalent to at least 119,000 individual doses.
One of the “drug couriers” had cocaine in his body, another had it in his luggage, and the rest was hidden around his body, the National Police Department said in a statement.
The suspects, aged between 22 and 48, one of whom was detained with the assistance of the tax service, were present at the first judicial interrogation for the purpose of applying coercive measures.
The investigation is ongoing, PJ said in a statement, without specifying when the arrests were made, what enforcement action was taken or the South American country of origin to which the drugs were being transported.
