This Sunday, the Association of Professional Security Forces (ADAFSU) will hold a solidarity event to help Filipe Ferreira, better known as “Pipinho”. The event’s godmother will be former Olympic athlete Aurora Cunha. Football coach Daniel Ramos and player Ruben Ribeiro have also been confirmed to attend.
Pipinho is 18 years old, lives in Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia, and was born with a rare condition. He cannot walk, speak or see.
To improve the quality of life, undergo several intensive therapies. However, the monthly cost of treatment is about two thousand euros. Values that the family cannot support.
The five-kilometre walk starts at 9am on Sunday near the Vairana pilgrim hostel.
Registration costs 5 euros and can be done through the organising organisations – Associação Desportiva de Árvore Forças Segurança Unidas (ADAFSU), Associação Cívica São Salvador and Albergue de Peregrinos do Monasterio de Vairão – on the Facebook page “Todos Juntos pelo Filipe Ferreira” or on the day of the event.
The collected amount will go entirely to help Pipinho.
