Sandra Madureira assured this Friday on social networks that “there is no better defense than a clear conscience”, but the investigation of “Operation Praetorian” surrounds the accused and her husband Fernando with increasingly incriminating evidence. Yesterday they were confronted with these new signs. “Macaco” was interrogated this morning at the prison of the Judicial Police of Porto, where he is being held, and decided to remain silent. A few hours later, Sandra took the same position in the Criminal Investigation Department of the PSP.
The evidence presented to the Madureiras includes new statements, CCTV footage, new amateur videos and even messages. Cameras captured, for example, Sandra Madureira trying to forcefully take a mobile phone from a partner who was filming what was happening at a general meeting of FC Porto last November. It should be remembered that this process includes precisely the attacks and threats that took place that day.
As for the messages, the investigation has managed to go back in time and reconstruct messages involving a former Super Dragões fan. These are conversations that mention the need for Pinto da Costa to continue leading the club. The prosecutor’s office says that “Macaco” wanted to ensure the continuity of the profitable ticket sales business. The rest of the defendants in the case will be heard next week.
