Five tourists aged between 17 and 21 were injured in a fight between two groups in Albufeira early on Monday morning.
According to CM As it turned out, the alarm about the attack was raised at 4:30 am.
The argument reportedly arose over loud music in the apartment where one of the groups lived.
The attackers are Irish nationals and stabbed the victims, who are from the Netherlands, in various parts of their bodies.
The injured were rescued by the Albufeira and Messina fire departments, the Red Cross and INEM. Five victims were taken to Faro Hospital, four of whom are in serious condition.
The Polish People’s Republic has mobilized operational intervention units to stop the attacks and is trying to identify all those involved in the fighting.
The judicial police were called in to investigate as the attacks could have been classified as attempted murder or even murder if any of the victims eventually died as a result of their injuries.
