Burger King announced Tuesday that it intends to complete its three-year plan to open 50 new restaurants by 2025, beginning hiring for more than 300 positions and estimating it will have 1,200 more jobs.
“In three years, the brand wants to open 50 new restaurants, thus strengthening the ambitious expansion process of Burger King in Portugal,” the chain that has tripled its size in the country since 2015, the company said in a statement today.
Burger King was sold by Ibersol to Restaurant Brands Iberia (RB Iberia) in 2022 in a deal valued at €260 million. Even before the approval of the Competition Authority (AdC), RB Iberia had already announced its intention to expand its operations in Portugal, planning an investment of €150 million and the opening of 90 restaurants by 2025.
