PSP agents are attacked by wasps as they approach a corpse near A5

PSP agents checking the discovery of a body on the side of the A5 motorway, near Monsanto, Lisbon, were attacked by wasps of the Asian variant (the most aggressive) on Tuesday afternoon and had to undergo hospital treatment.

The incident occurred at 19:20 when police and civil police officers were called to inspect a body found by a driver on the shoulder at kilometre 2.9 of the Lisbon-Cascais motorway, near the exit to the Monsanto area.

The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition. As an official PSP source told CM, the body was found near a tent, in a forested area.

The wasp attack occurred as police approached the body. The agents were seriously injured and treated at San Francisco Xavier Hospital.

The judicial police were called in to investigate the discovery of the body.
