The mega-operation of the Lisbon PSP, which sent dozens of police officers to the Mouraria district on Monday, eventually continued in the Quinta do Loureiro district, Alcântara, increasing the number of arrests from three to six – five men and one woman, aged between 19 and 48 – three of the accused.
On Tuesday, police reported that 53 arrests and 30 operations have been carried out this year in Mouraria, Baixa, Arroios and Castelo to combat pickpocketing, drug trafficking, robbery and theft. In Quinta do Loureiro, the PSP has recorded seven criminal investigations since the beginning of the year, in which 24 people have been detained; and another 30 operations with another 21 arrests. Seized were 5,600 doses of hashish, 20 grams of marijuana, 700 doses of cocaine, 400 doses of heroin and 2,000 euros in banknotes.
